El TD-3-GP, producido únicamente desde 1981 hasta 1984, fue un tremendo fracaso comercial como reemplazo del bajo eléctrico. Sin embargo, pronto encontró su lugar como uno de los sintetizadores más queridos para lo que se conoció como Música Electrónica de Baile (EDM).
