Chords dim7 They are made up of 4 notes that correspond to grades:
Root - Minor Third - Diminished Fifth - Diminished Seventh (R - b3 - b5 - bb7)
They are represented by the name of the chord plus the word "dim7", for example Sun dim7 (C Diminished Seven) is represented as Cdim7 (Cº7).
Not to be confused with chords dim (º) that do not have a seventh.
It is important to consider that the chords dim7 are part of the tall structure of an altered dominant 7b9. A dim7 equates to a 7b9 without its root. In the example we can see that Bdim7 is part of the structure of G7b9:
It is this example, the G7b9 corresponds to 5th grade and Bdim7 to the 7th grade Harmonic Minor Scale of C.
It is also important to remember that all dim7 chord inversions have the same shape on the guitar, separated by minor 3rd intervals, as can be seen in the chord diagrams below.
