Benjamín Correa, better known by his stage name Chamín Correa (Mexico City, December 4, 1929 - January 14, 2020), was a Mexican musician specialized in playing romantic music with various groups and singers, famous for his virtuous form of play the requinto.

He was born into a family that loves music, an art that he took as a career at an early age, founding in 1951 the musical trio "Los Tres Caballeros" together with Roberto Cantoral and Leonel Gálvez. In 1956 the group signed an exclusive contract with Discos Musart, releasing their first album with “El Reloj” and “La Barca”, among other melodies that would immediately become favorites of the public.

In 1964, his guitar accompanied Flor Silvestre in twelve of her hits: the ranchera songs "Aquel amor", "Cariño santo", "El tren sin passengers", "My little house of straw", "My destiny was to love you" and " Old nopal "; and the boleros «Pensando en ti», «Toda una vida», «Falsa», «Amar y vivir», «My thought» and «I don't love you anymore». These twelve songs were included in the album "La sentimental Flor Silvestre", an album that was a great sales success.

With his arrangements, he directed and produced figures such as Lucía Méndez, Dulce (singer), Enrique Guzmán, Rocío Dúrcal, Gloria Estefan, Óscar Chávez, Julio Iglesias, Tehua and Lucho Gatica, among other luminaries.

In 1991 he participated together with maestro Armando Manzanero in the musical arrangements of the album “Romance” by Luis Miguel.

In 1998 he participated with his requinto in the recording of the album “Total Delivery” by the northern group “Los Tiranos del Norte”.

In 2003, he participated as producer and arranger of the triple album "El Príncipe con Trío" by José José, in whose production only the voice of a great singer from previous original versions was used that were remastered with the arrangements of "Los Tres Caballeros", having Chamín executed in the requinto.

He worked as an arranger and producer for singers such as Julio Iglesias, Rocío Dúrcal, Tania Libertad, Gloria Estefan, Olga Guillot, Luis Miguel among many others. He also recorded several instrumental discs.
