Manuel López Ramos was born in Buenos Aires in 1929 and settled in Mexico in the fifties, his entire guitar career was developed in Mexico, promoting his international career and training most of the country's guitarists, which is why he is included as part of this section of Mexican guitarists since all his life on the guitar and the most important thing in his career was for Mexico.

In his country he studied with Miguel Michelone and in Mexico he founded the Estudio de Arte Guitarrístico in 1961. Some of his most outstanding students are, (among many others): Alfonso Moreno, Rafael Jimenez, Mario Beltrán, Enrique Velasco, Roberto Limón, and Raúl Zambrano. He made recordings for different labels, among which we can mention: Boston Records, Emi Capitol from Mexico, RCA Victor from France, broadcast both in Mexico and in Europe and the rest of America. He taught at various universities such as the University of Arizona, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the University of Santa Clara, California, the San José State College, Spring Hill College in Alabama, Eastern Michigan University and the from San Francisco, California.

In addition to his work in the musical field, he carried out some other activities, wrote scripts for film and television and plays, and recently published some texts such as: “And the rest… is a Story” and “The inner voice of man. Memories of a guitar. Some of the most notable musicians of the 20th century made glowing comments about the art of Manuel López Ramos.
