Guitarist, teacher, musicologist and composer; He has recorded several albums, among which is the series "The history of the guitar", which includes works and styles from the 16th to the 20th centuries.

He obtained first place in the composition competition of the Mexican Guitar Associations, he also won the Beryl Rubinstein Scholarship in Composition award from the Cleveland Institute of Music. In addition to being a concert guitarist, Miguel Alcázar composed the opera “La mujer y su sombra”, which was premiered in 1981 at the Palacio de Bellas Artes and won the Morales Estévez Foundation competition.

His editions of Mexican music have been published by the Liga de Compositores de México, the Universidad Veracruzana, Tecla Ediciones de Londres, Editions Orphée and B. Schott's Söhne. He is also the author of several books, among them “Complete work for guitar by Manuel M. Ponce”.

It has been performed in the United States and Europe with a repertoire that ranges from Renaissance and Baroque music (played according to the original tablatures) to contemporary.
