One of the greatest interpreters that the world of classical guitar has given. He approaches the guitar from a symphonic point of view, which he achieves thanks to its great variety of shades, timbres and colors, often creating the sensation of listening to a real orchestra.

Above his prodigious technique, his interpretive force is so intense that his listeners are enraptured by the sweetness, depth and sincerity in each of his performances, during his already more than 3000 concerts, around Europe, America and Asia.

Born in Mexico, heir to a great family artistic culture, he began his musical studies at the age of 4, studying Violin, Composition, Conducting and Guitar. Since 1968, when he won First Place at the International Guitar Competition in Paris, organized by French Radio and Television, his career has taken him on several occasions to such Prestigious Rooms as the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, the Bolshoi Hall of the Philharmonic in Petersburg, Kiev Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall in New York, Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Madison Auditorium in Dallas, Concert Hall in Beijing, Concert Hall in Nagoya, Yamaha Hall in Tokyo, Wigmore Hall and Royal Festival Hall in London, Palace of Fine Arts in Brussels, St. Peter Kirche in Zurich, Main Zen Temple in Hiroshima, Grand Theater in Okayama, Theater de Ville in Paris, Rampa Theater in Warsaw, Atatürk Kültür Merkesi in Istanbul, etc.

He has made more than 50 transcriptions of Great Musical Works, perhaps the most surprising being that of Niccolo Paganini's Concerto No. 1 in D Major, a Classical Work of violin virtuosity, which now also becomes a Classical Work of guitar virtuosity. During 1998 - 1999, Alfonso Moreno performed this Concert on more than 50 occasions, with different symphonic and philharmonic orchestras from many countries in America, Asia and Europe.

He studied guitar with Manuel Lopez Ramos.
